Honoring Our Veterans: The Reason America Stays America

Honoring Our Veterans: The Reason America Stays America Participate

By Chris Austin, President of Ardiah, Entrepreneur and Proud Rockland Business Owner

This Veterans Day, we pause to say thank you — to the men and women who have served, are serving, and those preparing to serve. Your commitment, sacrifice, and courage make it possible for all of us to live, work, and build freely.

At Ardiah, we’re reminded every day that the reason we can help entrepreneurs and small businesses grow is because generations before us fought to keep America, America. They stood up against those who would have taken our freedoms, and because of them, we have the privilege to create, to dream, to employ, and to build.

Freedom Makes Business Possible

Entrepreneurship isn’t just about profit — it’s about freedom.
The freedom to start something from nothing.
The freedom to work for yourself and create opportunity for others.
The freedom to live in a country where small business owners can shape their own future.

That freedom exists because veterans made sure it would. Their service didn’t just protect our borders — it preserved the American spirit that drives every small business owner to show up, take risks, and push forward.

Veterans Are Business Leaders Too

Many of the small business champions we work with and celebrate every day once wore the uniform. Their discipline, leadership, and teamwork continue to serve our communities long after their active duty ends. Veterans don’t stop leading — they just find new ways to do it.

They open shops, run companies, mentor others, and give back. They prove that service to country and service to community are built from the same heart.

Proud of the Next Generation

This Veterans Day also hits close to home for me. My son serves in the Maine Army National Guard, a nephew who serves in the Army, another nephew going to basic training soon,  my cousin who serves in the Navy reserves , my brother in law retired Army and my grandpfather who was Air Force. They represent the next generation of protectors — ready to carry the responsibility of defending freedom, just as so many before them have.

Yes — those currently serving are veterans in the making. They’ve already chosen the harder path. They’ve already stepped up. And as a father and uncle, I couldn’t be prouder.

A Salute to All Who Serve

To every veteran, every active-duty service member, and every family standing behind them — thank you.
Thank you for defending the country that lets us do what we love.
Thank you for keeping our flag flying and our freedoms intact.
Thank you for giving small businesses across America the chance to thrive, hire, grow, and dream big.

Today and every day, we honor you.

From all of us at Ardiah — thank you for your service, your strength, and your sacrifice.
Because of you, we’re free to keep America’s entrepreneurial spirit alive.
